Our Purpose

After spending over 20 years building homes and communities both nationally and internationally we decided it was time to get serious and help fix the housing crises in Tasmania.

In 2008 we applied for and were awarded Federal Government assistance through NRAS round 1 to build 261 new homes. This translates to more than 25% of the total allocation throughout Australia for 2008-2009.

Paramount Housing Tasmania is dedicated to providing affordable and sustainable housing for all.

Paramount Housing Tasmania is designed as a provider of community housing.  It assists people in need with access to affordable and sustainable rental housing in which tenants pay less than 75% of the market rate.

Paramount Housing Tasmania is a not-for-profit and a registered charity.  It operates like any limited company, but all financial surpluses remain in the company to be reinvested in quality affordable housing for people in need, wherever they may be.

Paramount Housing Tasmania has been purpose created as a flexible organization that will partner with Government, community groups and importantly private investors and developers to create affordable housing using any viable and equitable funding and ownership model that makes it happen.

Paramount Housing Tasmania manages its housing either in house or through the services of other charity organisations and is dedicated to ensure tenants can live affordably, have the security of long-term tenure, and have the right services to ensure they live comfortably.
